101 Farmhouse Favorites Cookbook Giveaway

I am super excited to review this cookbook for you all and even more excited one of you lucky readers will get your own copy!


This cookbook made me long for summer and fresh veggies from the garden. I can't wait to cook and can recipes from this cookbook later this summer! There are also cute-as-a-button copy and cut canning labels in the back of the cookbook that will come in handy!

I love the way this cookbook is set up, there are 5 different chapters including; Break of Day Breakfasts, Garden-Fresh Soups & Salads, Family Dinner Favorites, Blue-Ribbon Desserts and Classic Country Canning.   

I whipped up three recipes from the cookbook to share with you!


Mommy's Pasta Fagioli was a huge hit at our house! Even my picky eater hubby loved it! This is a recipe that will be on our farmhouse menu in the future! Click here for the recipe.


The recipe for Root Beer Cake caught my eye the first time I flipped through the cookbook. I had never heard of such a thing and knew I had to make it! I brought the cake to the farm and it was gobbled up in minutes! Click here for the recipe!


These Lighter-Than-Air Potato Rolls are addicting and would be perfect with apple butter or your favorite homemade jam! I was surprised and delighted at how quick and easy it was to make these! They would be great for breakfast or the perfect roll for dinner. Click here for the recipe!

    4. I love to slow roast a pork roast, then turn it into pulled pork, with roasted squash and sweet potatoes on the side.Some pepper jack cheese cornbread is perfect with it, too.

  39. During the winter, I make a lot of soups and casseroles...and my family likes for me to make baked spaghetti. My recipe makes a lot, but our 8 sitting at my dining room table can eat a lot. I just service it with salad, warm garlic bread...and a dessert. ..

  65. One of my favorite winter recipes is Ham and Bean soup. Growing up in a German family, we always added a little cream and some vinegar to the soup. And to go with the bean soup, mom or grandma always made Shlitz Keuchle (Love Knots). Roll out a 2 x 4 piece of dough, make 2 slits in each piece, twist, and deep fry. So good with powdered sugar, sugar and cinnamon, dipped in honey, or just plain!! s_schlepp@ymail.com

  75. I just plain love to cook in the wintertime!!!! I use my crockpot at least 3 times a week to make soups and stews and chili. But one of my favorite comfort foods is called "Come Without Calling" and it was something my mom made all my life.... it resembles goulash for most of you. I probably make it at least once or twice a month and think of my mom each time!!! I also like to do tons of baking and share with my neighbors!

  112. Chili ... I grow tomatoes, peppers, celery and onions. I juice and can whole tomatoes for the chili and freeze the peppers and celery. I dehydrate the onions. I tried growing kidney beans but the drought this year they didn't grow :(

    The first thing i'm trying is the rootbeer cake. Perfect for next weekend birthday party. Thank you for sharing :) I'm following you on FB now. Terri

  151. Looks like I agree with most everyone here...I tend to make chili in the winter but rarely in the warmer months. I have recently started making soups quite often since everyone in the house works a different schedule. Easier for them to just heat up and great for taking lunches to work for me! I would love to own this book for the soup/salad chapter alone!
