If you are new to the blog my hunny is a picky eater. He likes "man food" aka meat and potatoes. A couple days before the party he asked me what I was planning on making and I told him a Quiche. He looked at me and siad, "What in the world is a quiche?!?! and why would anyone want to eat something called quiche..." SO around our house this receipe is refered to as breakfast casserole!! :) Oh, and he liked it!! score!
Amy and I were both really excited to take part. What can I say, we have busy lives and how cool is it to have that much food sitting in your freezer for the hecktic days where you don't feel like cooking! Amy made a great kid friendly dish, Pizza Casserole! It was very yummy!!
In my opinion you can't have quiche without two things bacon and cheese!! Our hog farmer friend Heather over at 3 Kids and Lots of Pigs said she would be happy to provide the bacon! Let me tell you it was good! I just couldn't cook 6 lbs of bacon and not sneak a couple pieces!! She sells her tasty products locally and at farmers markets! I can't wait to try her other products!
So, in case you are wondering how much stuff it takes to make 12 quiches....Yes, that is a gallon of half & half!!
Cookin up the bacon!!
Bake at 425 for 15 minutes, reduce heat to 350 and bake 30 minutes.
