My husband misses the calves the most from his dairy days. They were pretty cute popping their heads out as soon as they heard the milk house door open and buckets clunking together. The cats and kittens came running too!
We dated six years before we married, and I spent a lot of time standing in the milk house door chatting with him while he milked and keeping at least one eye on the closest cow's tail! ;-) His family sold the dairy in April of 01, and we were married June 30, 2001. Guess it was their wedding present to us. SO much time and effort is spent in the milk house. We would have had to totally upgrade all parts, and they only milked 80-90 head. Fun memories!
